Professor Abronsius and his bumbling assistant Alfred (played by Polanski himself) travel through a snowy Transylvanian wilderness, arriving at a remote inn where a beautiful innkeepers daughter falls under the thrall of Count von Krolock. Mixing atmospheric vampire chills with absurd slapstick, the film blends Gothic elegance, candlelit castles, and snowbound suspense with sharp parody of vampire lore.Från IMDB: A noted professor and his dim-witted apprentice fall prey to their inquiring vampires, while on the trail of the ominous damsel in distress.
